Chile Threads
Chili threads are extremely thin threads of Korean dried mild red pepper, measuring about a 3 on a heat scale of 1-10. These threads have a smoky, fresh, earthy flavor.
Uses: Traditionally used in Korean national delicacy kimchi / kimchee. They also can be added to soups, salads, hors d’oeuvres, vinegars, and meat dishes, both for their flavor and their attractive appearance.
Chile threads can be used as a garnish Or soak the threads in water for 10-15 minutes to soften them and give a feathery appearance, Or lightly toasti the threads for a minute or so,over medium heat (avoid burning), to bring out afuller-deeper flavor & makes them more palatable.
