This is a prepared colorant-free karashi paste deliberately blended Japanese and Western mustards. This enhances umami and offers rich aroma and faint bitterness accompanied by a smooth texture.
S&B Hon-nama’s package features a patented convenient tube: you can easily open and close the cap by twisting only a quarter round, and the tube is designed to squeeze out the paste easily to the end.
An eco-friendly tube which is 28% lighter than the previous versions resulting in less use of plastic resource.
Karashi Japanese mustard is a great condiment if you use it with oily dishes like tonkatsu (deep fried breaded pork), butano-kakuni (stewed diced pork), and harumaki (Japanese spring rolls). It also can be an excellent accompaniment to oden and natto because karashi refreshes and lightens the taste.
