Description
Amarillo Chilhuacle Chiles are very rare chile from the Oaxacan region of Mexico. A favorite for it’s citrus and tangy flavor bearing smoky undertones.
This medium, thick fleshed chile, with a tart heat has a complex flavor and is a little salty and acidic, with bitter orange and sour cherry tones and sweetness in the finish.
Heat (Pungency): mild (4 out of 10) Scoville units: 1500-2500
Mainly used to prepare yellow moles- one of the seven major Oaxacan moles and other sauces.
